		<description>I generally agree, but I think Whitlock&#039;s had a bit more than KC homerism behind his opinions on the matter. The guy has reportedly turned down high-profile, higher-pay gigs with media outlets in NYC and Chicago on multiple occasions to stay with the Kansas City Star.

If the guy walks it like he talks it, I think he&#039;s allowed to make the &quot;money ain&#039;t all that&quot; argument... that&#039;s not to say I agree with that take, but at least it doesn&#039;t ring of false sincerity in that instance.

(I&#039;m a former reporter and I can tell you that 99.99 percent of media types would climb over babies on a ventilator to take another media job that would double or  triple their salary...)</description>
